Skills Programmes Training
We offer our Skills Programmes Training – and all our training courses – as In-house, Public and Online Training
What are Skills Programmes?
Skills Programmes are “customised training programmes, which consist of 2 or more Unit Standards from the same qualification.”
Our team at POP Training will customise your Skills Programme with you, and register it with your Seta.
You will then be able to claim a rebate back from your Seta in terms of their Discretionary Grant Funding Policy, for each learner who successfully completes that relatively short Skills Programme.
What are the benefits of opting for Skills Programmes Training Strategies, rather than learnerships?
- With a Skills Programme, in a short period of time a learner can learn a specific amount of work, which consists of a group of unit standards, instead of having to complete an entire qualification, as in the case of a learnership, which usually takes a year or longer.
- The company and the learner are therefore able to choose those unit standards that will add the most value to the company and the learner.
- As the Skills Programmes only contain Unit Standards from one specific qualification / learnership – e.g. Qualification 59201: National Certificate: Generic Management – if learners later decide that they wish to pursue the full qualification, they can enrol for further Skills Programmes and build up to completing the full qualification, as and when they and the company decide it is appropriate to do so.
Let’s look at examples of two Skills Programmes we recently structured for one of our clients:
